2024 Beanpot: Schedule, stats, how to watch men’s and women’s hockey tournaments
Shedding 4,500-seat Boston Arena after just two years, the Men’s Beanpot celebrates 70 years at the iconic Garden(s) — Boston Garden hosted the tournament until 1996, replaced by TD Garden on the same site — in 2024. Since its inception in 1978, however, the Women’s Beanpot Championship has cycled through host institutions around the city, an imbalance set to change this year as the championship and consolation games will be played at TD Garden.
“As a former collegiate athlete, a fan, and an executive in the sports industry, I am so excited for aspiring female hockey players, the current student-athletes, and the fans, to have this unforgettable experience,” TDGarden president Amy Latimer said in a release. “TD Garden and The Beanpot are amazing platforms to showcase the talent and amplify the growth of women’s hockey.”
Several players from the four teams were honored in celebration of the news during a Boston Bruins game last season.
