Michigan State, Denver enter men’s hockey Power 5 rankings
Two teams have re-entered this week’s men’s hockey Power 5 rankings. Here’s how NCAA correspondent Jordan Menard’s top 5 shakes out this week:
No. 1 Boston College (Previously 1)
BC took a pair of wins over ranked UMass this weekend, with a 5-1 win on Friday and a 6-4 win on Saturday. Ryan Leonard scored five goals over the weekend.
No 2 Boston University (Previously 3)
After falling in the Beanpot, the Terriers tied No. 10 Providence on Friday, then downed the Friars, 5-2, on Saturday. Shane Lachance scored a pair of goals to lead in Saturday’s win.
No. 3 Michigan State (Previously NR)
MSU had a Bye this week and will face off against Ohio State this weekend.
No. 4 Denver (Previously NR)
Denver swept conference-mate Minnesota-Duluth where Aidan Thompson scored the overtime game-winner on Friday and Sam Garris scored back-to-back goals to end Saturday’s game.
No. 5 North Dakota (Previously 2)
ND was swept by Colorado College this weekend. Riese Gaber scored the lone goal in Friday’s loss. North Dakota will be back in action against Minnesota-Duluth this weekend.
