Group A Ventspils – Anwil 78-99 Latvian Ventspils (0-1) recorded a loss at the home court. Hosts were rolled over by Polish Anwil (1-0) 99-78. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. Ventspils was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists.
