Chavez Sr. vs. Jorge Arce Rematch Pushed Back To March 7

Two Mexican legends will collide in an exhibition fight, on Saturday, March 7, at the Hermosillo Multipurpose Center. The event will have national and international television coverage in a co-promotion between 2M Box Promotions and the Julio César Chávez Foundation.

Three months after having offered a memorable performance in an exhibition fight in Tijuana, Julio César Chávez Sr. and Jorge “Travieso” Arce will face each other again in a ring, but now with bragging rights at stake.

The two boxers will go face to face on Thursday, at 12 noon, in the Box Pavilion “Julio César Chávez” located in front of the CUM. There will be a press conference held to announce the expected rematch. The event is open to the public that wishes to attend.

Competitive and accustomed to winning, Chavez and Arce have challenged each other publicly, and they have committed themselves to giving everything inside the ring, in order to show each other their quality and talent, and with it, giving the fans a fight full of memorable moments and emotion.

Chávez, who was a professional boxer from 1980 to 2005, and retired with a 107-6-2 record and 85 KO’s, and was a world champion at super bantamweight, lightweight and super lightweight. He is currently 57-years-old. On the other end, 40-year-old Arce fought from 1996 to 2014 and accumulated a record of 64-8-2, 49 KO’s and was a world champion in one form or another in five weight classes.

On November 22 of last year, at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium, a maximum capacity crowd came out to watch Chávez and Arce, who offered a vibrant boxing exhibition for three rounds. When the final bell rang, they continued to fight and had to be separated.

Their rematch in March will be complemented with eight professional fights, presenting the main talents of Luis “Chapo” Castro, Bryan Acosta, Eduardo ¨Ko-reano¨ Ramírez, Taylor and Jesús Quijada, Oscar ¨Pacquiao¨ Cota, David Vázquez among others.
