Fantastic cake that doesn’t require cake flour! Love that. As described, my cake was fluffy, full of heaven – beautiful! Though I think I over-mixed in step #4. Don’t overmix! The frosting was just ok in my opinion, both taste-wise and visually. I don’t know a lot about frosting, but I don’t recall ever adding salt to the ones I’ve made before …? I felt like the salt gave this frosting an oddly tangy-quality. I ended up throwing in some instant espresso to the frosting to see if that would mellow the tang and accentuate the chocolate flavor. Didn’t have a 13×9 dish so used my 8×8 and make cupcakes with the remaining batter. All in all a solid cake recipe I will be making again, but maybe with a different frosting recipe. Thanks BA!
