American Point guard Shane Larkin (180-PG-92) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Anadolu Efes, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (49 points, two rebounds and five assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Bayern (#16, 4-7) with 29-point margin 104-75. It allowed Anadolu Efes to take over top position in the Euroleague. Anadolu Efes have a solid 9-2 record. In the team’s last game Larkin had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got ten three-pointers out of 12 attempts. It’s his second year at Anadolu Efes and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Former University of Miami star has very solid stats this year. Larkin is league’s best scorer averaging so far 22.0ppg. Larkin is in league’s top in and averages impressive 51.7% FGP and 50.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round’s games was 25-year old Serbian Nikola Milutinov (213-C-94, agency: Octagon Europe) of Olympiacos. Milutinov had a very good evening with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Olympiacos to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Milano (#4, 7-4) 91-70. Milutinov is one of the most experienced players at Olympiacos and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Serbian Vladimir Lucic (203-SF-89, agency: BeoBasket) of Bayern (#16). Lucic scored 20 points. Despite Lucic’s great performance Bayern lost 75-104 to the higher-ranked Anadolu Efes (#1, 9-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Bayern not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Lucic could try to bring Bayern’s a little bit higher in the standings. Lucic has a very solid season. In 11 games in Euroleague he scored 11.6ppg. He also has 4.2rpg and FGP: 75.0%.

The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-70. Olympiacos made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Olympiacos outrebounded Armani Milano 34-18 including 25 on the defensive glass. Armani Milano was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian center Nikola Milutinov (213-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) responded with 14 points and American-Tunisian swingman Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) scored 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olympiacos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Baskonia and ASVEL. Loser Armani Milano keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Olympiacos will face higher ranked Panathinaikos (#6) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. 28-year old power forward Nikola Mirotic (207-PF-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for league’s best team FC Barcelona and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed Maccabi T-A (#7, 6-4) with 23-point margin 96-73. It allowed FC Barcelona to take over top position in the Euroleague. FC Barcelona have a solid 8-2 record. In the team’s last game Mirotic had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be FC Barcelona’s top player in his first season with the team. Mirotic has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (6th best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 7.0rpg) and averages solid 59.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Gabriel Deck (199-SF-95) of Real Madrid. He is Argentinian in his 2nd season at Real Madrid. In the last game Deck recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Real Madrid to another comfortable win 97-81 over slightly lower-ranked CSKA (#5, 6-4) being unquestionably team leader. Real Madrid’s 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team’s 7-3 record is not bad at all. Deck is well-known at Real Madrid and he already established his position as one of the team’s leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Stefan Jovic (198-PG-90) of Khimki (#6). Jovic showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, five rebounds and eleven assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Jovic’s great performance Khimki lost 84-89 to the lower-ranked Valencia (#12, 4-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Khimki needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 4 lost games. Jovic has a very solid season. In 5 games in Euroleague he scored 7.8ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
