Fred VanVleet said that Kawhi Leonard’s back-to-back 3’s to start the 3rd quarter jumpstarted the Toronto Raptors’ 105-92 win over the Golden State Warriors in game 4 of the NBA Finals.
The Raptors were down 4 points to open the quarter when Leonard hit two 3’s to give the team their first lead of the night.
“Kawhi Leonard came out and hit two big F-you shots to start the half. There’s no defense for that. There’s no schemes for that. Two big-boy shots we came out of the half with … that just kinda let you know how we were gonna approach the third quarter and the rest of the half,” said VanVleet following the game.
Leonard scored 17 of his 36 points in the 3rd as the Raptors outscored the Warriors 37-21 in the quarter.
“Kawhi’s two big threes to start the half really, I thought, changed the whole feel of everybody,” added Nick Nurse.
