Bordeaux are said to have rejected Fulham’s first offer for Sabaly but talks remain ongoing.
Sabaly spent a season on loan at Bordeaux from PSG before eventually making his switch permanent in July of 2017 for a fee of around £3.6m.
The 25-year-old would never actually make his PSG senior debut but has since impressed for his current club.
Sabaly has made 85 appearances across all competitions for the French outfit, in which he has earned 13 assists.
The full-back has been in and out of the Bordereaux side this season after suffering a knee injury. But he has still managed to play 13 games across all competitions, in which he has assisted two.
Fulham’s poor defensive record
Given Fulham’s poor defensive record this season, it is no surprise they are reportedly in the market for a defender.
After 21 league games this campaign, Fulham have let in an astonishing 47 goals, the worst record in the Premier League.
They have also kept just two clean sheets in the league this season.
Those clean sheets came against Huddersfield and Newcastle, the two lowest scoring sides in the Premier League.
Fulham’s poor defence was once again on display on Sunday as they conceded two vs Oldham Athletic.
