The 26-year old guard had the game-high 22 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Lavrio in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Panionios (#10, 2-5) 77-71. Lavrio is placed at 3rd position in Greek A1. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Lavrio will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team’s last game DeCosey had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Lavrio’s top player in his first season with the team. Quenton DeCosey averages this season 13.7ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 36-year old American shooting guard Keith Langford (193-SG-83) of AEK. Langford impressed basketball fans with 35 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course AEK cruised to a 77-68 relatively comfortable win over Iraklis (3-4). This victory allowed AEK to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 3-4 record. Langford is a newcomer at AEK and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#1).

The third best performed player last round was American Lasan Kromah (198-G-91) of Kolossos HH (#9). Kromah scored 26 points. Despite Kromah’s great performance Kolossos HH lost 80-83 to the lower-ranked Larissa BC (#14, 1-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Kolossos HH ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kromah could help Kolossos HH to bring them higher in the standings. Kromah has a great season in Greece. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 15.0ppg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Samardo Samuels (206-F/C-89) of Panionios – 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Terell Parks (205-C/F-91) of Larissa BC – 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Alex Davis (206-F-92) of Iraklis – 16 points and 7 rebounds
7. Milan Milosevic (204-F-85) of Aris – 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Nontas Papantoniou (192-PG-90) of Larissa BC – 14 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Tyrese Rice (185-PG-87) of Panathinaikos – 21 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Langston Hall (193-PG-91) of Promitheas – 15 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)

The Greek Head Coach Dimtiris Koukouris is the new Head Coach of Omonoia Nicosia just four months after he split ways with AEK Larnakas. The well known Greek Head Coach in the Cyprus league, adds his second team as a head coach in the same League and he is expected to try and give some elements that the team probably needed in order to come back in the positive results. The ex Head Coach of the team, Nikolas Papadopoulos consider being quite successful as he did a lot with the minimum budget, that is the reason why he remain unemployed only 2 days, as the 2nd day he resign form Omonoia he agreed financial terms with APOEL Nicosia, who remain coachless after Greek Head Coach Chris Hugaz split ways.

Dimitris Koukouris will coach for the first time at his career a team that will actually “fight” with AEL and APOP to remain in the division as he was used to coach AEK Larnakas, a team with different focus and different dynamics… Eurobasket.com wishes all the best to the both the coaches (Nikolas Papadopoulos and Dimitris Koukouris) at their new career challenge
