British Basketball League side Leeds Force are to withdraw their franchise with immediate effect, the club announced.
The club publicly struggled to maintain sponsors last season and with numerous player and coaches leaving, the club ended rock bottom with just one win all season.
“It is with a heavy heart that this move sees the end of professional basketball in West Yorkshire, which is a shame because it is a region that deserves a strong and successful basketball team to support in the BBL,” the club statement said.
Confirmation of the competition format for the forthcoming 2018-19 campaign will follow during the coming weeks, with the fixtures due to be released in the middle of July.
