After the game Mauricio Pochettino spoke about the importance of bouncing back from their defeat to Wolves:

“I think it was so important. It’s so important to build another positive run.

“Of course in football it’s impossible to win every game, but sure we are going to try to win every single game. It was so important for our confidence.”

Christian Eriksen contract update

As well as speaking about the Cardiff game, Pochettino was also asked about Christian Eriksen’s contract.

Eriksen’s contract is due to expire at the end of next season but Spurs have still yet to come to terms on a new deal.

The midfielder has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Eriksen was on fire vs Cardiff and came away with the man of the match award.

When speaking about Eriksen’s contract, Pochettino stated:

“I don’t have news. The phrase is no news is good news, in that case I don’t know. No news is good news.”
