Michigan State climbs back into men’s hockey Power 5
A big week for Big Ten men’s hockey, as three conference teams now feature in Jordan Menard’s latest Power 5 rankings after Michigan State’s rivalry sweep over Michigan.
Here’s a look at Menard’s complete list:
No. 1 Boston College (Previous: 1) — While this might be confusing to some, BC still holds the series edge over BU 2-1 this season despite losing to the Terriers last week. BC then took a ranked win over New Hampshire where Cutter Gauthier and Jack Malone had a pair of goals each
No. 2 Boston U (Previous: 3) —The Terriers downed No. 1 Boston College in maybe one of the best college hockey games that we’ve seen this season so far in the opening round of the Beanpot. Msck Celebrini showed why he’s such a highly-anticipated NHL draft pick with a pair of goals to start the game. The Terrirs then took the 7-1 win over Merrimack.
lol that’s unstoppable

No. 3 North Dakota (Previous: 2) — The Fighting Hawks had a bye this week, but they’ll face off against Colorado College this upcoming weekend
No. 4 Wisconsin (Previous: 5) — The Badgers swept Notre Dame and were able to come back on Friday from a 2-0 first period. A pair of goals by David Silye to end the second period and kick off the third would equalize and then win the game for the Badgers.
“We light it up with our hands up…”
This is how David Silye (@Dsilye21) rolls. 😉🚨

No. 5 Michigan State (Previous: NR) — The Spartans swept their rival Michigan this weekend, including wins at UM’s Yost Ice Arena and then at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. Hopefully MSU can continue to roll into the postseason.
