Nolan Arenado promises ‘spicy’ next series against Cubs after plunking

Nolan Arenado can’t wait for his next chance to face the Chicago Cubs. The Colorado Rockies third baseman was plunked on the forearm during the third inning of the team’s 10-1 loss to Chicago on Wednesday and had words for opposing pitcher Cole Hamels and the Cubs dugout afterwards. “When I first got hit, it was on the meat [of the arm] and it was feeling OK,” said Arenado following the game, per Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post. “But it was throbbing and it got super tight. And sometimes when it gets super tight, quickly, you are afraid it might be a break.” “If we played them again, it would be a pretty spicy series,” the four-time All-Star added. Arenado was the first of four batters drilled in Wednesday’s game, as Rockies catcher Tony Wolters, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, and Hamels himself all caught plunkings as well.
