AFTER 20 years spent achieving the apparently impossible, Muhammad Ali has finally run out of miracles.

The old maestro, bidding to become world heavyweight champion for an unprecedented and unattainable fourth time, was pounded into a humiliating corner retirement at the end of 10 one-sided rounds against his former sparmate Larry Holmes in Las Vegas on October 2, 1980.
