Dmitriy Salita, the promoter for once-beaten heavyweight contender Otto Wallin, says his boxer would be more than happy to take on a top British boxer on UK soil in the future.
Wallin made a name for himself when he shocked experts by going a full twelve rounds with Tyson Fury in a competitive fight back in September in Las Vegas.
He came close to stopping Fury, after inflicting a very serious cut on the Gypsy King, but the doctors allowed Fury to continue to the final bell. Wallin would lose a twelve round unanimous decision.
Salita is planning to announce his boxer’s next fight in the very near future.
And he says the 29-year-old Wallin would entertain traveling over to the UK for a fight.
“Yes definitely, the UK has incredible boxing fans and Otto made many with his incredible performance against Tyson Fury,” Salita told Sky Sports.
“A world heavyweight title is his No 1 target at this point and that will lead to a rematch with Fury. A fight that many fans thought he won.”
Salita believes his fighter is only getting better. He backs him to overcome unified champion Anthony Joshua and believes he’d win a rematch with Fury – if the two boxers ever step in the ring for a second time.
“Otto is getting better and better and has tons of untapped potential. He is going to approach his peak in the next 12-18 months,” said Salita.
“Both Joshua and Fury, while still great fighters, are already on the other side of their best. A possible fight in the UK or New York with Joshua or a rematch with Fury sometime down the line, Otto comes out on top!”
