Former Sydney Kings forward Perry Ellis will be suiting up alongside another NBL star in Travis Trice for the upcoming 2018 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
The Kansas City Star reported earlier today that the University of Kansas college star would be joining the Milwaukee Bucks this off-season following a stint in Italy with Pallacanestro Cantu.
Ellis was a standout during the 2017 Summer League as a member of the Charlotte Hornets before committing to Sydney.
In 27 games for the Kings, Ellis averaged 14.8 points and 5.7 rebounds on 44.7% shooting from beyond the arc as one of the brighter spots in a tough season for Sydney.
If Ellis does not make an NBA roster and decides against playing overseas again, his G-League rights are held by the Wisconsin Herd, the affiliate of the Bucks. The Herd obtained Ellis’ rights last August and have the rights for two seasons, including 2018-19.
Trice confirmed he had committed to the Bucks earlier this off-season at the 3×3 Pro Hustle in Melbourne where he was watching his partner play.[ooyala code=”V4YWw5ZjE6oJ3T62Xl642o208znAEUoU” player_id=”d5b993422b3e4b5ebd61f9e19ca2a6a5″ auto=”true” width=”1280″ height=”720″ pcode=”EwNWUyOqfDgjGTlv9lIu9RLGr__g”]
With the Brisbane Bullets look like they won’t be bringing Trice back following their off-season overhaul, the guard could be a free agent option for other Clubs as a known commodity in the NBL after two seasons.
Trice also starred at last year’s edition of Summer League in Vegas with Milwaukee where he came close to making the cut for training camp.
