Despite Maurizio Sarri’s side finishing third and above the Gunners, the Dutchman believes his former side are better.

The north London club will be looking to reproduce the perfomance back at the start of the year which saw them beat Chelsea 2-0.

Both sides have experienced mixed seasons under their new managers, but the winner in Baku is sure to have their campaign dubbed a success.

Van Persie admitted:

“Personally, I think Arsenal have the edge. They’re a little bit better.

“But Chelsea have Eden Hazard and he is a very special player – at any time he can come up with something.”

Arsenal prepare for the Europa League final

However, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not be travelling to final due to political tensions between Azerbaijan and his nation Armenia.

With the 30-year-old’s safety on the pitch uncertain, he has decided that he will not to travel.
