Experienced American Earl Clark (208-PF-88, agency: BeoBasket) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league’s leader Burgos and that’s him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 31-year old power forward had a double-double of 20 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Joventut (#18, 0-3), the league’s bottom-ranked team 82-74. It allowed Burgos to consolidate first place in the Spanish Liga Endesa. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Burgos already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. It was one of impressive evenings for Clark as usually he does not deliver so high stats. University of Louisville graduate has very impressive stats this year. Clark is in league’s top in rebounds (9th best: 7.0rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 57.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 27-year old Czech Republic center Ondrej Balvin (217-C-92, agency: Octagon Europe) of RETAbet BB. Balvin impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as RETAbet BB was edged by Obradoiro (1-2) 98-96. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let’s wait for the next round. Balvin is a newcomer at RETAbet BB and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was American DJ Seeley (193-SG-89) of Zaragoza (#7). Seeley scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Seeley’s great performance Zaragoza lost 73-89 to UCAM Murcia (2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Zaragoza needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Seeley has a very solid season. In 3 games in Spain he scored 15.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Augusto Lima (206-C-91) of Burgos – 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Giorgi Shermadini (217-C-89) of Tenerife – 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Moussa Diagne (211-C-94) of Andorra – 19 points and 7 rebounds
7. Vyacheslav Bobrov (203-F-92) of Fuenlabrada – 19 points and 8 rebounds
8. Jordan Davis (188-G-97) of Manresa – 28 points and 4 rebounds
9. Klemen Prepelic (191-G-92) of Joventut – 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Tomas Bellas (185-PG-87) of Fuenlabrada – 14 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
