Tottenham’s Andre Onana transfer hopes challenged by Man United
In Monday’s edition of Dutch daily Telegraaf, it’s claimed that both Tottenham and Man United are interested in signing Ajax goalie Andre Onana.
Tottenham number one Hugo Lloris is currently sidelined with a long term arm injury.
Paulo Gazzaniga is currently the Spurs goalie until Lloris makes his comeback.
As for Man United, David De Gea remains the first choice keeper at Old Trafford.
What do we know about Tottenham & Man United’s interest in Onana?
Telegraaf claim that both Spurs and United have held official talks with Onana’s agent, Albert Botines, about a possible move to the Premier League.
Rather than lining up any bids in January, however, Tottenham and Man United are looking at Onana as a possible target this summer.
PSG are also in the mix
Aside from the two Premier League rivals, PSG have also spoken to Onana’s agent about a possible move.
Keylor Navas is the current number one for PSG between the sticks.
Andre Onana’s contact at Ajax
Andre Onana, who is also the Cameroonian international stopper, is under contract with Ajax until 2022.
That’s following his most recent contract extension back in March 2019.
Onana joined Ajax in 2015 from Barcelona, while he made his debut for the Dutch giants in August 2016.
Andre Onana’s price tag revealed
Telegraaf also consider how much the like of Tottenham or Man United would have to spend to convince Ajax to sell Onana:
Ajax has a transfer fee between 40 and 50 million euros in mind for Onana.
