The charges dealt to the 34-year-old include two instances of audible obscenity and one instance of the abuse of cricket equipment.
Wade’s absence has opened the door for Tim Paine to make a sensational BBL return, with the former Test skipper ushered into the 15-man squad that will face the Melbourne Renegades on Saturday afternoon. Paine was eventually named in the XI to face Melbourne.
Paine, 38, last made an appearance for the Hurricanes back in February 2018 for the final of that season which the Adelaide Strikers won by 25 runs.
The Hurricanes have endured a torrid start to the season, losing two of their first three games. They currently sit sixth on the ladder.
Losing Wade is a massive blow to Hobart, with the skipper notching scores of 35, 51 and 15 through the first three matches of the season.
Wade’s suspension comes after he found himself in hot water earlier this week after yelling just moments before former South African captain Faf du Plessis was bowled during a clash between the Hurricanes and the Perth Scorchers.
“I called ‘bowled’ maybe a little bit early. I don’t know how early it was, but I think that’s why he was annoyed … apologies Faf,” said the veteran after the match.
