Sancho’s breakout season
Jadon Sancho’s 2018/19 season thrust the young Englishman onto the world stage in a big way.
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund in 2017 from Manchester City, for a fee of around £7m.
That £7m has since proven to be something of a steal, considering the season that Sancho has just had.
Despite being just 19 years of age, Sancho is a regular feature in one of the top Bundesliga sides.
The winger would play 34 Bundesliga games this past season, in which he scored 12 and assisted a very impressive 17.
Jadon Sancho is the first English player to provide 14+ league assists in one of Europe’s top five divisions since Frank Lampard in 2009/10.

Sancho & Man United
After such a superb campaign with Dortmund, Sancho has allegedly been attracting the attention of Manchester United.
According to the Evening Standard, United were prepared to pay in excess of £80m to land Sancho.
However, that deal has proven a no-go, with the Standard citing Dortmund selling Christian Pulisic as a reason why.
Man United legend Wayne Rooney has since weighed in on the situation.
Rooney states that if Sancho is to continue to get more playing time for Dortmund than he would in England, then he should remain there:
“Now Jadon has to ask himself whether he would get the playing time he gets in Dortmund when he moves to England, or would he just sit on the bench?
“Playing time is so important for a young player like Jadon, so if he gets the most playing time in Dortmund, he should stay there.” As quoted by the Evening Standard.
