Pep Guardiola won’t watch Man United vs Liverpool
It’s a match between Man City’s eternal rivals and their main challengers in the Premier League title race.
Yet, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he won’t be watching Manchester United versus Liverpool on Sunday.
Speaking after the Sky Blues won at Selhurst Park on Saturday, Guardiola explained why he won’t be tuning in to watch United take on the Reds:
I have to see [our next opponents] Atalanta.
Journo : Are you gonna watch Liverpool- Man United tomorrow?

Guardiola’s comment was slightly odd considering Atalanta drew 3-3 with Lazio on Saturday.
Indeed, Atalanta threw away a 3-goal lead at the Stadio Olimpico in the stalemate.
The assumption is that Guardiola will watch video analysis of the Atalanta game against Lazio.
It’s also worth noting that while Atalanta are third in Serie A, they’ve started their Champions League campaign with two defeats to Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb.
Man City, meanwhile, have a perfect record in the UCL group phase so far.
Crystal Palace 0 – Manchester City 2
Man City returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday against Crystal Palace.
The reigning champs closed the gap on Liverpool to five points with a 2-0 away win in south London.
Both City goals were scored in the first half.
Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 39th minute, while David Silva doubled City’s lead two minutes later.
Kevin De Bruyne & diving claims
Man City’s margin of victory against the Eagles could have been greater.
Indeed, City could have won a penalty when Kevin De Bruyne was felled in the Palace box.
In the end KDB wasn’t awarded a spot-kick, even though it looked like a stonewall decision after the Belgian was pushed by Wilfried Zaha.
After the game, Guardiola was asked about the De Bruyne decision, which lead the City boss to sarcastically say his midfielder dived:
He’s diving, he’s diving. Every weekend he’s diving for penalties.
